MINDFULNESS – try out some moving box breathing!

Today’s mobility work is to give your jaw some love.
I tend to clench my jaw when I lift, so much so that I got a bite guard so at least I won’t lose any teeth! But, this means I hold a lot of tension in my jaw and I need to release it every once in a while!
You might be the same way and this is a great mobilization to do. You can definitely use a lax ball for this, but it’ll be a bit rough. Remember, this is your face! Be gentle and patient.
Today’s mindfulness work is to try out some moving box breathing.
Two variations are presented in this video– walking or driving. The same principles apply as in normal box breathing (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fVCDox8xhLI), with an inhale/hold/exhale/hold cycle. The only difference is that instead of an internally paced count, you utilize your steps or stripes on the road (respectively).
With walking, try to strike that balance between requiring a good amount of focus but not causing you stress because you can’t breathe!
With driving, make sure you keep enough focus on your surroundings that you don’t crash! 😛
